WE ARE TEN LONDON POTTERS AND DESIGNERS WHO HAVE GATHERED TO CREATE CERAMICS 274 - A PROJECT THAT STARTED AS A POP UP SHOP RUN BY MAKERS FOR THE WINTER SEASON OF 2016 AND IS NOW WORKING TO CREATE A NEW WAY TO CONNECT PEOPLE WITH CERAMICS.

WE ALL LIVE AND WORK IN LONDON, AND FORMED CERAMICS 274 AFTER MEETING AT SHARED STUDIO SPACES. FROM MODERN TO TRADITIONAL; WHEEL-THROWN AND HAND BUILT PIECES; OUR WORK COVERS A WIDE RANGE OF STYLES.

WE BELIEVE THAT OUR UNIQUE AND CONTRASTING STYLES WILL CREATE A COMPELLING COLLECTION - TIMELESS TABLEWARE PIECES FROM ANDREA ROMAN; PASTEL PORCELAIN VESSELS FROM NATASCHA MADEISKI; THROWN AND ALTERED WORK FROM NED DAVIES; SARAH HALL’S SCULPTURAL CITRUS SQUEEZERS, GRACE MCCARTHY'S BRUSH STROKE DECORATED VESSELS - THE SPACE IS A FASCINATING INSIGHT INTO MODERN CERAMIC PRACTICE.

THE LINES BETWEEN FUNCTION AND ART ARE BLURRED IN MUCH OF THE WORK: BEN SUTTON’S ‘COCOON’ VASES; TEXTURED EGG-LIKE FORMS FROM LISA OMMANNEY; ARJAN VAN DAL’S RICHLY HUED DYED PORCELAIN WORK; ELEGANT MARBLED VASES FROM IDA RIVEROS; INTRICATE PORCELAIN PIECES FROM DITTE BLOHM.
